A30 Music Server & Streamer
A30 is the flagship model from Aurender’s range of analogue output digital music players.   Aurender has designed A30 to be the comprehensive digital focal point of your system, providing useful aides not usually associated with a typical music server. Functions like CD ripping, a high-quality headphone amplifier, 10TB of internal storage, ultra-wide colour LCD display and an integrated software suite of metadata editing and library management tools. All this, and much more, make the A30 the new performance standard in all-in-one digital source components.
 

A200

This compact digital music player is packed with features including a high-performance digital-to-analog convertor with full-decode MQA* enabling it to take full advantage of the vast selection of MQA encoded music from the Tidal streaming service (subscription required) or from stored music files. It also has the capability to store a massive amount of content and playback files of virtually any resolution and bit-depth. Two rear panel ports can accommodate drives of up to 8TB each to store the largest of music libraries. Browsing your music collection couldn’t be easier as Aurender's app, Aurender Conductor is simple and intuitive to operate. FEATURES
Connectivity with Versatility

A200 can function as a preamplifier and can be connected directly to a basic power amplifier or an active loudspeaker system for the utmost in simplicity. Volume can be adjusted from the Aurender Conductor app for iPad, iPhone or Android devices. If you already use a preamplifier, the variable output can be set to a fixed output level so control of volume is the connected preamplifiers job now. Additionally, the supplied machined aluminium IR remote control allows for adjustment of volume, mute, input / output select, play / pause and other essential functions without reliance upon your phone or tablet. The front panel also provides the ability to adjust volume, play / pause / skip track as well as select and start a created playlist.

Digital Inputs / Output

For maximum flexibility, the A200 features both a coaxial (RCA) and optical digital input. These inputs allow other sources like a Blu-Ray / DVD player, CD Transport or cable box to be connected to the A200 and use its DAC to improve the audio fidelity. A USB output is also provided to send a digital signal to a different system or DAC.

Audio / Visual

The faceplate of the A200 features a 6.9” widescreen LCD display reproducing album artwork in vivid color. A second alpha-numeric display shows artist and album name as well as other indications of system status. The cover art and text are rendered large enough to be visible at a distance yet not enough to be a distraction.

DAC with Full-Decode MQA

The stereo version of the AKM4490 chipset is the basis of the DAC within the A200. Aurender engineers have designed circuit topologies around this chip achieving new levels of audio performance and fidelity. Fine-tuned and voiced for a sonic signature that’s resolved and not etched and smooth without sounding dark. The analog outputs of the A200 can reproduce PCM files up to 32bit/768kHz and DSD up to DSD512. In addition, high-resolution streaming can be realised using the A200’s MQA full- decode DAC for TIDAL’s MQA Masters content. The full decoder offers the highest possible sound quality the MQA process can deliver.

FPGA-Based Precision Clock

A high-precision clock generation system incorporating Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) is at the heart of the A200. With a sub 100fs jitter-reducing clock generator precisely timing the digital audio data transmission, jitter is brought to well below negligible levels.

Support for High-Resolution Streaming and File-Based Content

The A200 is compatible with all the lossless and lossy file codecs which include DSD (DSF, DFF), WAV, FLAC, AIFF, ALAC, M4A, APE and MP3. The analog audio outputs can PCM formats up to 32bit/768kHz and DSD up to 256 so you can expect the highest audio performance

Linear Power Supply Designed to Keep the System Noise Level as Low as Possible

The A200 provides two user accessible ports on its real panel that allow the user to install the type and capacity of hard drive that best meets their requirements. Most users opt for SSDs which are reliable, cost effective and are available in 1TB, 2TB, 4TB and 8TB capacity. With the dual trays it’s possible to fit the A200 with up to a mind boggling 16TB of SSD storage! If you’re a streaming enthusiast, then no drive(s) need to be fitted. But should your situation ever change you can install them at a later date and begin to collect and storing hi-res file-based content.

Caching Storage

The internal hard drive you install provides for storage of your high-resolution files and a 240GB solid-state drive is used to cache music for playback. When the command to playback a song or album is initiated, the content moves from the storage drive to the caching drive for playback. When that selected song or album is cached to the solid-state drive, the hard drive will remain asleep. This minimises wear and tear on the HDD. By caching songs to the solid-state drive for playback, electrical and acoustic noise resulting from spinning disks, moving heads and motors are also completely eliminated.

Aurender Conductor App Packed with Convenient Features for Full-Function Control

The Aurender Conductor App turns an iPad, iPhone or Android phone or tablet into a versatile user interface for any Aurender Music Server/Players. All functions, preferences and behaviours of the Aurender can be easily accessed and customised through the Settings menu. A green or blue dot next to the MQA logo indicate that the unit is decoding and playing an MQA stream or file, and denotes provenance to ensure that the sound is identical to that of the source material. The blue dot indicates it is playing an MQA Studio file, which has either been approved in the studio by the artist/producer or has been verified by the copyright owner.

A15

A15 is packed with a high-performance, dual-mono AKM4490 digital-to-analog convertor with MQA full-decoder technology and balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) analog outputs. As with all of Aurender’s “A” series, A15 is designed to take full advantage of the vast selection of MQA encoded music that is now available. It also has two rear panel bays which can accommodate user- installable 2.5′′ HDDs or SSDs of (up to 8TB each) to store the largest of music libraries. A large full color front panel display shows album cover art along with artist name and song title on the “now playing” screen.

Dual-Mono MQA Full-Decoder DAC

At the heart of A15 is a dual-mono configuration of the renowned AKM4490 DAC chipset. The DAC boards are supported by discrete linear power supplies for the best performance in channel separation, dynamics and noise floor reduction. Aurender engineers have designed input/output circuit topologies around this chip, achieving new levels of audio performance and fidelity. The A20, shares the same basic circuitry topologies, DAC chipset and form factor as the flagship A30. However, it dispenses with the CD ripping functionality, metadata editing software and the headphone connection provided is a single standard 1⁄4” jack. By being scaled back, the A20 will appeal to the digital music lover whose library is already digitised and wants a full-fledged, high-performance server, streamer, preamplifier, DAC and headphone amplifier.

The A20 can be customised to your needs in terms of storage capacity and type. Two trays located on the rear panel each can accommodate a hard drive (HDD) or SSD. For users with large music collections, each tray could be fitted with an 8TB SSD providing a massive 16TB of digital file storage. Consequently, if the user is 100% streaming, no drives are required to be installed, but can be added later should you change your mind.

What distinguishes A20 from other analog output models is its pure audio performance. Adaptive Storage

Two trays accept the hard drives (user installed) of your choice HDD or SSD and of the capacity you wish.

SSD Caching

When A20 is fitted with a storage hard drive or hard drives of the user’s choice, playback is handled via the unique to Aurender, caching system. While music files are stored on the user installed drives, playback always occurs from a solid-state drive (SSD). This method allows for the storage drives to only be concerned with loading content onto the SSD for playback. The result is that these drives experience a short duty cycle of operation before going idle contributing to their long- term reliability.

Support for All High-Resolution Formats

All major codecs supported. PCM up to 786kHz/32-bit. DSD up to 256 DoP. Native DSD up to 512.

Upsampling

The A20 is capable of upsampling non-DSD files to 705.6/768kHz to the analog outputs. You can also choose PCM audio to reach the DAC without alteration and allow the DAC to perform its own upsampling.

User Adjustable Analog and Digital Filters

The parameters of the digital and analog filters are able to be adjusted by the user for precisely fine tuning the sound to best compliment the audio system the A20 is used in. There is a factory default filter setting which can be selected. MQA content requires a filter setting that cannot be changed as it is a fixed for the MQA decoding process.

Critical Listening Mode

For best audio performance, circuitry related to panel illumination and other background function can be defeated. This mode conserves system resources for the best possible sound quality.

2X Isolated LAN Port

A20 features a 2X isolated LAN port in which to connect directly to your router. This LAN port will isolate the A20 from any noise introduced by the LAN/Router connection.

Digital Connectivity

Four digital inputs are provided: one RCA Coax, one BNC Coax and two Optical. These inputs allow for the interface of additional digital sources such as a CD transport, DVD player, television etc. Any device connected this way will now be able to take full advantage of the superior sound quality of the DAC within the A20.

USB Connectivity

A20 features two USB 3.0 ports either for super-fast copying from a USB storage device.

USB and NAS (Network-Attached Storage) Support

A30 is so packed with features, Aurender had to give it its very own app! The ACS Manager companion app is used to configure all system settings including CD ripping preferences and behaviours. Smart Copy, Move, Delete, Editing and Duplicate Checker are just some of the library management software-based tools provided allowing you to organise your music library the way you want.

State-of-the-Art Automatic CD Ripping

Aurender’s CD ripping software, which was custom engineered, designed and optimised to work with the high-quality TEAC CD- ROM, yields shockingly good CD rips in WAV, FLAC or AIFF codecs. Sophisticated error detection and correction software ensures accurate rips for great sounding digital files. A30 supports the Acronova AutoLoader (not included) which allows for unattended and automated ripping of up to 100 cd's at a time.

Massive Storage for the Largest Music Libraries

A30 is fitted with a single 3.5′′ 10TB hard drive with capacity to provide enough storage space for even the largest digital music libraries.

SSD Caching

Unique to Aurender is its caching system. While music files are stored on conventional spinning hard drives (HDD), playback always occurs from a solid state drive (SSD). This method allows for the HDD to only be concerned with loading content onto the SSD for playback. The result is that the drives experience a short duty cycle of operation before going idle contributing to their long term reliability.

Support for High-Resolution Formats

All major codecs supported. PCM up to 786kHz/32-bit. DSD up to 256 DoP. Native DSD up to 512.

Upsampling

The A30 is capable of upsampling non-DSD files to 705.6/768kHz to the analog outputs. You can also choose PCM audio to reach the DAC without alteration and allow the DAC to preform its own upsampling.

User Adjustable Analog and Digital Filters

The parameters of the digital and analog filters are able to be adjusted by the user for precisely fine tuning the sound to best compliment the audio system the A30 is used in. There is a factory default filter setting which can be selected. MQA content requires a filter setting that cannot be changed as it is a fixed for the MQA decoding process.

Critical Listening Mode

For best audio performance, circuitry related to panel illumination, cd ripping and other background function can be defeated. This mode conserves system resources for the best possible sound quality.

2X Isolated LAN Port

A30 features a 2X isolated LAN port in which to connect directly to your router. This LAN port will isolate the A30 from any noise introduced by the LAN/Router connection.

Digital Connectivity

Four digital inputs are provided: one RCA Coax, one BNC Coax and two Optical. These inputs allow for the interface of additional digital sources such as a CD transport, DVD player, television etc. Any device connected this way will now be able to take full advantage of the superior sound quality of the DAC within the A30.

USB Connectivity

A30 features two USB 3.0 ports either for super fast copying from a USB storage device, or allow for the interface of a Nimbie AutoLoader (not included) for automated ripping of up to 100 cd's.

Remote Internet Technical Support

A Remote Support request can be sent through the Aurender App which allows engineers to quickly diagnose and correct issues over the internet.

MQA (Master Quality Authenticated)
MQA is an award-winning British technology that delivers the sound of the studio. The master MQA file is fully authenticated and is small enough to stream, while also being backward compatible, so you can play MQA music on any device.
MQA technology is licensed by labels, music services, and hardware manufacturers worldwide.
The Aurender A30 includes full MQA Decoder technology, which enables you to play back MQA audio files and streams, delivering the highest possible sound quality of the original master recording.

The Aurender Conductor App will indicate that ‘MQA‘ or ‘MQA Studio‘ content is being played back. A green or blue dot next to the MQA logo indicate that the unit is decoding and playing an MQA stream or file, and denotes provenance to ensure that the sound is identical to that of the source material. The blue dot indicates it is playing an MQA Studio file, which has either been approved in the studio by the artist/producer or has been verified by the copyright owner.
